Community service builds empathy, confidence, leadership skills, and brings families together.

"DO A GOOD TURN DAILY" is more than our slogan. In 2024, our youth members provided more than 163,000 hours of service in our communities, valued at more than $5.1 million*

Eagle Scout projects alone accounted for more than $416,580 – representing 13,100 hours – in service to local communities. It is only because of our steadfast donors, loyal volunteers, and community-based civic, faith-based, and educational organizations, who unselfishly donate their time and resources, that Scouting continues to develop young people who are Prepared. Scouting for Food

In 2024, the Scouting for Food initiative reached new heights as 2,700 Scouts joined forces in collaboration with Souper Bowl of Caring. This annual event has become a remarkable showcase of community engagement.

Dedicated scouts collected an impressive 150,000 pounds of food during the drive. The success of this initiative was further amplified through strategic partnerships with esteemed corporate sponsors, including Smiths, Young Automotive Group, Bank of Utah, Red Hanger Cleaners, Arctic Circle, and YESCO. Their support not only contributed to the substantial food donation but also highlighted the power of collaboration between youth organizations and community-minded businesses in addressing the critical issue of hunger. The 2024 Scouting for Food drive stands as a testament to the positive impact that can be achieved when communities unite to address essential needs.

Promoting Scouting’s Message

Social media serves as an invaluable tool for promoting Scouting's compelling story. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube provide a dynamic space to showcase the Council's impactful initiatives, highlight the achievements of Scouts, and engage with the local community.

Through visually captivating posts, inspiring success stories, and timely updates, social media enables the Crossroads of the West Council to connect with a broader audience, fostering a sense of unity and pride among Scouts, leaders, and supporters. This digital outreach not only amplifies the positive influence of Scouting but also serves as a catalyst for recruitment, fundraising, and community involvement, ensuring that the Council's narrative continues to resonate and inspire both online and offline.
